Adam Womelsdorf
Adam is the founder and Principal Architect at IDA. He is registered as an Architect in New Jersey, New York and Ohio,
After receiving his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati Adam attended the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Detroit where he earned a Master of Architecture. He has taught in Finland at both the Helsinki University of Technology (Aalto University) and at LUT in Lahti.
Adam’s varied experience includes working as a carpenter on both large and small job sites, acting as both an Architect and Expeditor for a code consultant and as an Architect in both corporate and boutique type firms. He has also had the privilege of public service working for the New York City Housing Authority, beginning as a Project Manager and eventually realizing the position of Acting Director of the Design Department.
Upon leaving NYCHA in 2005 Adam founded Indigo Design Build LLC where he filled the roles of designer, construction manager and lead carpenter. After years of providing full design-build services Adam decided to focus his energy solely on Architecture and transformed Indigo Design Build into Indigo Design Architecture.

Indigo Design Architecture LLC is a full service architecture practice focused on forward thinking design solutions that realize the practical needs of our clients’ programs.
Our projects include small commercial facilities, new homes and residential additions and renovations. We have had success working in urban, suburban and rural communities exploring the nuances of each particular site as a means to inform the final design.
At the heart of our methodology is the understanding that every project is a collaboration with the client. A culture of listening and understanding allows for the development of a creative dialogue with the client which is the first and most essential step toward a successful project.
